Historic Red Cars of Los Angeles
Current- January 2012
The exhibit housed in our new Harlyne and Kenneth Norris Visitor Center chronicles the history of the Pacific Electric “Red Cars” in Southern California through a display of historic photographs, models and artifacts.
Scrimshaw
Current- February 2012
The exhibit displayed in the main hallway of the museum represents several examples of the art of scrimshaw. The art of scrimshaw (to carve designs on bones or teeth of marine animals) was a popular pastime for American sailors on whaling ships in the 18th and 19th century.
